Helpful Resources
Links:
Lose It! - Great for keeping track of calorie consumption, exercise, and progress. I love this as an app for my iPhone.
I can only assume that the online version performs similarly.
Pinterest - This one may seem odd, but there's nothing like seeing a wall of photos of fit, healthy people. I know I will never look like 90% of these women, but with some work... I can look a little more like I did when I peaked in high school.
Healthy Choice Coupons - If you chose to go the pre-portioned frozen meal route it can get pricy. Healthy Choice regularly offers printable coupons.
Exercise Library - Great resource for those wanting to add some variety to their regular cardio routine (which the sciency folks recommend)
Other Helpful Resources:
Your local library - my library is amazing, it has thousands of titles about healthy eating, dieting, and exercise. My library also has a collection of workout kits that include literature, videos and equipment to help you get started. Your library may also provide jazzersize style classes, if that's your thing.
Thrift Stores - Salvation Army and Goodwill are great places to find cheap fad workout DVD's, books, and equipment. Think the step, ab roller, bender ball, yoga mats etc. I'm always into a deal and the added variety makes mixing things up every now and again interesting.
